About
Sky Dog Tennis is a blog following a middle aged man’s journey into tennis. While I have been following pro tennis since I was a child, my forays into the game have been fairly limited and sporadic until I took my first tennis lesson in 2014. Today, I am on the court 3 to 4 times a week mostly participating in group drills with an emphasis on doubles play.
Outside of tennis, I am an FAA certified Aircraft Dispatcher and have worked for several airlines through out my career. I also hold a Private Pilot license, but my flying has been limited to simulator flying on a PC for quite some time now. Rotating schedules with shift start times that vary throughout the 24 hour day have been the norm in my life for 23+ years. Working weekends and evenings does present some challenges when it comes to joining a league or group for a regular tennis game, so to date, my tennis has been limited to group drills and an occasional friendly game when my wife and I find some time off together that matches the normal schedule of most others.
At home, we have 3 dogs and 2 cats that share our unusual schedules. Our lives are probably more centered around the pets than most households, but we wouldn’t change a thing for all the love and joy we share with them. When not playing tennis, we enjoy cruise ship vacations as well as bicoastal Disney trips. For hobbies beyond tennis, I occasionally dabble in amateur photography and tasting/enjoying wine.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the blog as it grows.
